As soon as I tried on these shoes, my feet were in heaven. They fit perfectly and feel ruggedly solid. I have worn them several times now and they are so comfortable. They don't seem to breathe as well as I thought they would with the mesh sides, however I will think about using a thinner sock. Overall, a great shoe!

As described, this shoe is very light and offers great stability. My festival/event work frequently moves me from turf to cement and back again thoughout shifts of up to 14 hours, and the Geomorph Maze Stretch holds up even when I don't have time to switch shoes at "half time." Would prefer to see a second "tugging" loop atop the laces for easier pull-on, like on my old Chameleon Stretches, but I'd still buy these again.

Just to get it even, here is the less favourable review on this product, while David R seem to be keeping faith on the Merrell brand though...here.

This is my second pair from Merrell. I agree with the other reviews on them being lightweight, great grip from the soles and very comfortable. The only issues I have with them might be a fluke. As soon as I received them I noticed I was leaning to one side of them as is the entire support had already worn out. Shortly after that that I noticed my cleats of the outer side started to tear off. In my profession I am in and out of a freezer of -20 to 75 degreee temps for about 8 to 12 hours a day. As well as trying not to lose grip of the floor in the freezer since its almost like walking on a sheet of thin ice. I am using the full potential of these shoes by pulling 8 foot tall palletts with stocks on themwith a pallett jack so I can be one to vouch for the superb grip of the cleats on these shoes. Thanks to the wonderfull customer service I am hoping to get a replacement for these shoes to see if it might be a malfunction in the pair I have, anyway I am sold to being a Merrell fan even if I can only find my size on there website because there is not a store around me for a 100+ miles that carries my size to even try on... Merrell Rocks!!!

To conclude, the Merrell Men's Geomorph Maze Stretch Hiking Shoes is indeed a hiking shoe, but was designed as much as a casual wear shoe, and due to its lightweight quality, may be worn for jogging/running.
